This past month I spent a few weeks ministering in several cities in the nation of Brazil. I am always blessed to go there because of the great move of God taking place in that nation. They LOVE the message of faith! It takes me back to when I wholeheartedly turned my life toward God, and submitted to His plan for my life. Although I had been raised in church, it wasn’t until I heard the message of FAITH that something got down on the inside of me, and from that moment every aspect of my life changed for the better.
Hebrews 11:6 says, But without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
Faith is the ONLY way to please God, and one of the primary basics to being a person of faith is recognizing that the Bible is God talking to YOU! God and His Word are inseparable. If you love His Word, that is the same as loving God. The person who has respect for the Word is a person who has respect for God. And the way a person receives God’s Word is the way a person receives God.
Jeremiah 1:12 says, …Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my Word to perform it.
It is God’s Word that He is watching over to perform—not the word of a preacher, nor the word of a politician, and not even the word of a Christian, but only His Word. He is listening for His Word because He is ready to perform His Word in your life. He sent His Word for the purpose of you utilizing it.
Isaiah 55:10-11, For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my Word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
There is a continuous cycle in nature. Water is constantly being changed into one of its forms: gas, liquid, or solid. In this passage we see that there is a cycle in the way water, the earth, and the atmosphere work together. The water comes down in the form of rain, runs into the rivers and seas, evaporates and goes up in the form of a vapor, condensing into clouds. Then it falls on the earth, beginning the cycle again.
God says this is the way His Word works. Just as the rain and snow don’t fall to the earth without having an effect before returning, neither will His Word return void (without having the desired effect.) God’s Word is going to accomplish the thing He declared.
Our part in this cycle is to return God’s Word to Him. It’s like the rain that has come down. It will water the earth, and when we speak His Word, it will water our lives and it will water our circumstances. It will cause growth in us and cause change in those things around us WHEN we return it.
Returning God’s Word to Him is one of the foundations for the life of FAITH. It’s time to get back to the basics, my friend. Stand strong against distractions that would get you off course of your walk of faith—it’s your answer!
I first ministered in Brazil at a ministers’ conference in 2007. My message was on the spirit of faith. …We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak (2 Corinthians 4:13.)
I have lost count of the pastors who have testified that their lives and ministries rose to a new level since that conference. Churches outgrew their buildings, and new buildings were built. Their personal lives experienced financial increase like they had never seen. I have been to some of those buildings and homes—it’s amazing what the Lord has done for them!
The message was one I have preached countless times, but those pastors made the decision to operate their lives and ministries with the spirit of faith—believing and speaking the Word, and refusing to take NO for an answer.
Returning God’s Word to Him is essential if you’re going to live the life of faith. E.W. Kenyon says, “Our attitude toward the Word determines the place that God holds in our daily life.” It’s time to get back to fellowshipping with God through His Word, and watch it water every aspect of your life!
I have included a message I ministered several years ago at my church. It is the first of a series of meetings I did entitled ABCs of Faith. Faith doesn’t come by having heard; it comes by HEARING!messagedownload
