But You Know…

but you know devo

The wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination shook this nation, and its ripple was felt around the world. It was more than the loss of a leader; it was a stark reminder of the clash of kingdoms raging in this hour. For decades, we’ve sensed it in our spirits and seen it in our culture.

From the beginning, God raised up the United States with a divine purpose: that freedom might be a platform for the gospel to reach the nations. This nation was born so that men and women could worship God freely, live in liberty, and carry the message of Jesus Christ across the earth. That calling hasn’t changed. But make no mistake—Satan knows it, too, which is why attacks come against voices of truth.

I was overseas in Brazil when the news broke. Even there, we felt the weight of what had happened. Yet at the same time, I saw firsthand what God is doing across the earth. Blake, my grandson, and I ministered in five churches scattered across the country. Every sanctuary was packed. People were hungry for the Word, eager to receive, and open to the move of the Spirit. In one service, I asked how many were hearing me for the first time, and hands went up across the congregation. God is drawing new people, saving, healing, and strengthening His church.

To give you a picture of what’s happening, Brazil, like most South American nations, has always been predominantly Roman Catholic. For centuries, it was unthinkable that it could ever change. But today, evangelicals are growing so rapidly that by 2030, it’s projected they will outnumber Roman Catholics two to one. What was once considered impossible is happening before our very eyes.

Friends, you had a part in that. Your prayers and your generosity have helped make these many trips there possible. You helped us carry the Word and the spirit of faith into a nation experiencing revival. Together, we’re reaching pastors, equipping churches, and fueling a harvest in places you may never step foot—but your seed is there, preaching louder than you know. From my heart, thank you.

Coming back home into the reality of Charlie’s death, the contrast could not have been sharper. On one side, revival fire is spreading across the nations. On the other, the enemy lashes out in hatred, violence, and deception. And yet, that is precisely what the Apostle Paul, by unction of the Holy Spirit, told us to expect in Ephesians 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

What you see on the surface is not the real battle. Behind every headline and every confrontation are two kingdoms in conflict. But here is the good news: God has not left us blind, confused, or powerless in this hour.

The apostle John tells us in 1 John 2:20, “But you have an unction from the Holy One, and you know all things.” The anointing you received abides in you. That means you are not at the mercy of deception. You don’t have to be tossed by every opinion or swayed by every voice. You don’t need to panic when the world shakes. The Spirit of God within you confirms the truth and steadies your heart.

John continues in verse 27, “But the anointing which you have received of Him abideth in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.”

What does that mean? It means you don’t live in guesswork. The Holy Spirit makes the Word alive to you. He shields you from the lies of the antichrist spirit that saturates this age. And He keeps you in fellowship with Jesus so that, as John says in verse 28, “when He shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.”

Here’s how I like to put it: Act like you know—because you do know. You have an unction from the Holy One.

The devil traffics in confusion, but the Spirit of God brings clarity. The world may say the lines are blurry, but you know the difference between truth and lies, light and darkness, righteousness and sin. You know because the unction of the Holy Spirit is alive within you.

So when questions arise—and they will—lean into the unction. When culture calls evil good and good evil, stand your ground. When the world says you can’t really know what’s right or wrong, act like you know because you do know. The Spirit of Truth is within you, and He never lies.

Friend, you are not powerless in this clash of kingdoms. You are not a victim of circumstance. You are a child of God, equipped with His Spirit, armed with His Word, and called for this hour. So don’t hesitate. Don’t second-guess. Don’t shrink back.

So live like it. Speak like it. Give like it. Stand like it. Act like you know—because you do know.

These are the last of the last days, and the battle is real. But you have an anointing that steadies you! Watch Pastor Scott’s message and be equipped to stand strong.
