I just finished ministering for two weeks in the nation of Nigeria. I began in the city of Lagos and was a part of a large conference called the West Africa Faith Believers Convention. This conference was birthed from a conversation a missionary friend of mine had with a pastor in Lagos, Pastor Oyemade Poju. They desired that a new generation experience the power of God’s Word similar to how the faith movement gripped the nation of Nigeria in the late 70’s and 80’s. In addition to the many people in attendance, many more were a part because of the conference being televised in 72 nations. Thousands were exposed to the Word of faith…to God be all the glory!

After the conference was over, we traveled to Abuja, and from there I traveled to several cities, ministering in churches and Bible schools. I was so blessed being there because of the hunger you see in this part of the world, and it’s because of that hunger that lives are being transformed by the Word of God. I am reminded of Hebrews 4:2, …but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. There was great profit in this trip because it seemed that faith would rise as a result of every Word that came forth. Thank you, my partner, for the part you had in making this trip possible.

When I first began learning the truths regarding faith, I was CONSTANTLY in the Word, and it was easy for me to keep the practice of calling those things that be not as though they were. I saw TREMENDOUS results—some took some time and others were instant. I am happy to report to you that THIS TRUTH HAS NOT CHANGED. I put my faith to work TODAY the same way I did over thirty years ago.

FAITH calls those things that be not as though they were, causing them to come into being. There is more criticism of this than any other area of faith: not the believing part; not the promises of God part; but the part in which faith speaks and calls those things that be not as though they were. Satan knows that the tongue is the most powerful weapon we possess. Remember, life and death are in the power of YOUR tongue.

It is so much easier for Christians to do things God’s way than to go the way of the world. All we need to do is speak to the areas of our lives that are not producing, and call into existence the things that we want and need. God cannot lie. He has told us that He called things that be not as though they were, and we are to be imitators of Him.

God instructed Abraham to act the way God acts in the area of faith. Abraham, like God, began to call those things that were not as though they were (Romans 4:17).

My mother met a young lady several months ago who was facing some challenges with her family. The lady was discouraged. She and her husband had sort of grown apart. This of course had a negative effect on their growing children. My mother was prompted to tell her to speak these words to her husband and children: “I am so grateful for you.”

The lady did just that. She did not preach or explain anything to them, nor did she say anything that required a response. She just simply told each of them, “I am so grateful for you.” In a matter of days her situation began to turn around. She took all the pressure off and her words caused a change in the atmosphere.

Second Corinthians 5:7 says, For we walk by faith, and not by sight. Walking and living by faith IS calling those things that be not as though they were.

Don’t waste another minute wishing for someone to change your situation. You have everything you need—the Word, your faith and your tongue—to turn that situation around. So put your faith to work today, and you will see your desires manifest!
