People often wonder if the desires they have are from God or if they are their own. The Bible says in Psalms 37:4-5Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Whether these desires seem big or small to you, if you are following and seeking after God and your delight is in Him and His Word, then these desires were placed there by Him.

Life is full of questions and situations that arise, and some of them seem impossible. It is these situations that try to steer you away from fulfilling the desires God has placed in your heart. But remember what the angel told Mary in Luke 1:37, For with God NOTHING shall be impossible. Nothing means NOTHING!

Are your finances so bad it looks impossible for a complete turnaround? Does it look like the sickness and disease that has been in your body for years will always be there? Does it look like you’re going to be stiff and sore and in pain for the rest of your life? Are your children so far gone that it looks like there is no way for them to be drawn back into a relationship with God? Is your marriage so messed up that your wife or husband has gone another way and it looks like it can’t be fixed? Does it look impossible? It may, but according to Luke 1:37, “impossible” is a lie!

Instead of looking at the impossible, focus on this question: “How deeply do I desire for these situations to be fixed?”  Do you desire it enough to do what needs to be done for Luke 1:37 to come to pass? No matter the situation, this is the truth—with God, nothing shall be impossible!

After the Bible assures us that nothing is impossible with God, Luke 1:38-56 follows this truth by giving us four things Mary did to help bring forth something in her life that naturally seemed impossible, and I want to share those first two with you today.

1) Mary agreed with what the angel told her.

She said, “Be it unto me according to thy word.” What you say is important. You have to talk your vision; you have to talk your desires, but you have to talk it in line with the Word of God. Job 22:21 AMP says, Now yield and submit yourself to Him (agree with God and be conformed to his will) and be at peace; In this way you will prosper and great good will come to you.

Mary exemplified what it means to agree with God when she responded to the angel like she did. As a result, in the midst of a great opportunity to fear, peace was present, and truly, great good came to her. But none of this took place before her agreement with the Word was established.

No matter your situation, if you desire to see it turned around, then find your answer in the Word and agree with it. You do so by using your own words. You’ve got to say, “The Word of God says that He supplies all of my need according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus—so be it unto me according to Thy Word.” “The Word of God says, by His stripes I AM healed—so be it unto me according to thy Word.”.

2) Mary moved quickly.

And Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, into the city of Judah. (Luke 1:39) We live in a fast-paced society, and when we want something, we want it NOW. We want God to move now, but He needs us to move quickly also. This is exactly what Mary did, and it caused her to be in the right place at the right time.

I believe so many times we miss it because we don’t move quickly. I believe that there are opportunities that we miss because we just sit around and think. You’ll think and think and before you know it, you say, “Well, that’s not God.” That is exactly what the enemy wants you to do.

Don’t be consumed with the fear of making a mistake.  One of the most sure-fire ways to miss God is to have your thoughts pre-occupied with missing God! You’ve got the Holy Ghost dwelling on the inside of you, you are praying in tongues, and you know the voice of the Father. Follow Mary’s example: rise up and with haste quickly go to where He has for you—before you can talk yourself out of it. Where do you see yourself going? Head toward it. Go for it!

Remember this…if the Word of God says that with God nothing shall be impossible, then IMPOSSIBLE IS A LIE! Continue to agree with God by keeping His Word in your mouth, and your victory shall manifest!
