Which One Will You Be?

In every person’s life, at one time or another, they will have an important decision to make about who they will be…a victim or victor.

Have you ever been there? Perhaps you find yourself there now. Did you know that regardless of what you may encounter, you get to choose which you will be?

Job is a perfect illustration of this. Early in his life, he seemed to have it all. His family had increased, his relationship with God was rock-solid, and his wealth had accumulated. Then, in a matter of months, his happy life that had been building for years seemed to slip through his fingers, one attack after another. He had a choice to make…would he be a victim or a victor?

By Job 2:9, even his wife was encouraging him to pull the victim card by cursing God and dying! BUT, God was not done with Job!

In his New Testament letter, James gives us the key to understanding Job’s story. Job endured hardship, but the end of the story is what matters most—restoration! God turned Job’s captivity and restored him with double of what he had lost. This is the heart of our Father—He is a God of restoration, not destruction. Job’s story reminds us that no matter what trials we face, God is always working behind the scenes to bring us to a place of greater blessing.

James 5:11 reminds us, “Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.”

Too often, believers focus on the suffering of Job and miss the revelation of his victory. God’s mercy prevailed! This story is not one of endless suffering but of triumph. It is a testament to the power of our words and the importance of our faith. Job ultimately chose to remain faithful, and through that faithfulness, he experienced a supernatural turnaround. His story encourages us to endure, knowing that our faith in God’s promises will always lead to victory.

Through Jesus, we are no longer victims but victors. This is a defining truth—there is no in-between. You must make a conscious choice every single day: will you live as a victim, letting circumstances dictate your faith, or will you rise as a victor, standing on God’s promises? The choice is yours, and it will shape your future.

Satan seeks to deceive us into believing we are powerless, but the truth is, we have already won through Christ. We are seated with Him in heavenly places, and every challenge we face is already under our feet because of Jesus’ victory!

The enemy wants nothing more than for you to believe that you are trapped by your past, your circumstances, or your mistakes. But the reality is, Jesus has already paid the price for your freedom. He has given you the authority to walk in victory. The Bible tells us that we are more than conquerors through Christ (Romans 8:37). That means we don’t just scrape by—we completely overcome!

1 John 5:4 boldly proclaims, For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Friend, this is your truth! You are an overcomer, and nothing the enemy throws at you can change that. The blood of Jesus has made you righteous, innocent, and victorious. As you stand firm in faith, God’s restoration power is working in your life, turning every trial into a testimony of His goodness.

The key is persistence. Job’s story teaches us that we must not give up. The trials you face are temporary, but God’s faithfulness is eternal. It’s easy to get discouraged when we don’t see immediate results, but faith is about believing in the unseen. Just because you don’t see the breakthrough yet doesn’t mean your faith’s not working. Keep speaking life. Keep standing on God’s promises. Keep believing.

Perhaps you’ve been facing a difficult season. Maybe the enemy has tried to steal your joy, your peace, or your sense of purpose. I want you to know that God sees you, He hears you, and He is working behind the scenes on your behalf. No situation is beyond His ability to restore. Just as Job’s latter days were greater than his former days, God has a plan to bless you abundantly.

So, I encourage you—keep your confession strong. Speak life. Declare victory. Choose daily to reject the mindset of a victim and embrace the identity of a victor. Stand in faith, knowing that God is faithful to His promises. Just as He restored Job, He is restoring you!

Take a moment today to reaffirm your faith. Speak out loud: I am victorious through Christ! I am not a victim. I am an overcomer! Let these words fill your heart and mind. As you do, you will begin to experience the transforming power of God’s Word at work in your life.

Stay strong, stay encouraged, and walk in the fullness of God’s promises. Your victory is already secured in Jesus!
