This month we get to celebrate the most glorious miracle in all of history…the resurrection of Jesus Christ. To this day, we are still experiencing the supernatural effect of what took place on that day. Because of it, we face each and every day different, knowing that we have been resurrected with Him, and we are seated with Him in Heavenly places. Glory to God!
In Luke 13, we find a statement that Jesus used that sheds so much light on who we really are and what our lives ought to reflect. Verse 16, And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? The basis upon which this woman’s healing rested was based on her covenant with God BECAUSE of who she was—a daughter of Abraham.
Galatians 3:13-14, Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us…That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ.
Galatians 3:26, 29, For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus…And if ye be Christ’s then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Because of Jesus, there are no more distinctions of race. You have the same covenant rights as any one of Abraham’s bloodline descendants. They’re RIGHTS, not possibilities. When Jesus was nailed to the cross, the curse was put on Him. Now then, since His resurrection, there is NO MORE CURSE ON HIM! And, if you’re in Him, there is no more curse on you!
One of the areas where Satan will trip up God’s people is in the knowing that healing is a RIGHT for the believer. He’s polluted this truth by convincing people that God somehow uses any aspect of the curse to mature His people. But nothing could be further from the truth. Jesus bore the curse 2,000 years ago and deposited it at the feet of its rightful owner, Satan. As a result, He was freed from it and was raised without the afflictions of mankind. He rose healthy, alive and free, and this victorious state belongs to you and me because we are in Him.
Hebrews 11:1 Amplified, Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen…
When you own a home or a vehicle, it has a title attached to it, and it is the title that gives you the legal rights to your property. It is a legally understood position for the rightful owner. It doesn’t matter if you actually drive the vehicle or live in the house. Regardless, whoever has the title deed has the legal rights to it. FAITH is the title deed to the blessings of God.
Many times, when people have read this, they think…okay, my faith will produce the title and rights to experience the blessings of God. However, THAT IS BACKWARDS! It is not faith that gives you the title to the blessings of God. IT’S THE TITLE THAT GIVES YOU FAITH FOR THE BLESSINGS OF GOD.
With that understanding, let me further explain how this miraculous plan works for you and me. When you’re purchasing a home, the person who pays for it is the one who has the title to it, and when you borrow money for the home, although the title may be in your name, the lender actually holds the title until the debt is satisfied.
The old covenant was much like this. God gave Abraham and his seed covenant rights, but there was a debt on it—the sin debt, and it had to be satisfied. Every year on the day of atonement the blood of the Passover lamb was offered up in order to pay on the note. In reality, this was just like paying interest on a note. It couldn’t be fully satisfied with the blood of bulls, goats and lambs.
Then God, in His infinite wisdom and great love, sent Jesus, and with His precious blood, He purchased our redemption. Every ounce of the sin debt was paid in full, and there is NO MORE NOTE on that debt.
Colossians 2:14, Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross.
Knowing this and knowing that we are in covenant with God through the blood of Jesus IS OUR TITLE. Friend, the debt has been paid! When Jesus did this, He took ownership of everything that belonged to God, and then He turned around and gave it all to us. Everything that is His is mine, and everything that was mine is His. THIS is what it means to be in covenant with Him.
Nobody would ever question that everything that the blood bought belongs to Jesus. With this in mind, remember that you are in Christ, which means you’re one in the same. My rights to everything that Jesus purchased are just as legally solid as Jesus’ rights. It is in knowing this from which faith springs. We don’t have to work up faith to own anything that Jesus already purchased. Faith comes in when we find out what is already ours, and with our words, we receive.
I encourage you to take some time to mediate on what belongs to you. Such a great price was paid for our redemption, and it merits our full attention!
