tr_26Terrorism, devastating storm systems, government scandals and corruption—it seems there is no escaping the catastrophes occurring in the world. All are screaming FEAR! Child of God, now is not the time to open the door to fear!

It is the time to put the 91st Psalm in your mouth and repel the spirit of fear. It is a psalm of promise and deliverance to the Body of Christ. I urge you to meditate and confess it regularly. You have authority, but your mouth is the instrument in which to utilize that authority.

Psalm 91:1-2, He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.

It is vital to say something if you want to stay in that secret place, under the shadow of the Almighty. So, what do we say? Say, “In Him will I trust! In Him will I trust! I trust in Him!”

When you are trusting God, it doesn’t matter what the world does; it does not matter what the government or economy does; it doesn’t matter what the devil does. Just put your trust in God, and He will not fail you!

Verses 3-5, Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day…

Make it personal. Say, “I shall not be afraid. I WILL not be afraid for the terror by night nor for the arrow that flieth by day. That means I won’t be afraid at night and I won’t be afraid in the daytime. God has covered me, I am under His wings, and I will not be afraid. He is my shield and buckler, my protector. He has delivered me, and I am not afraid!

Verses 6-10, Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the Most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

This refers to sickness, disease, plagues, storms, or catastrophes. They can’t come near me. When I have made the Lord my habitation, no evil can come nigh me.

Verses 11-16, For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

The word “deliver” is mentioned three times in this psalm, and in each case it has a different meaning in the Hebrew. The first time is in verse 3, “Surely he shall deliver thee…” This word means to snatch up, to get you out of an ensnared mess. Have you ever gotten yourself into a mess or trap? Have you ever been in trouble? Here, God says He will snatch you up and get you out of that mess. Even if family and friends give up on you, God will never give up on you no matter what. God loves you so much that He wants you out of that mess.

The second time it is mentioned is in verse 14, “Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him…” Here “deliver” means to lift up and to carry over to a place of safety. Instead of just getting you out of a mess, this means He will keep you from ever getting into one.

Finally, verse 15 says, “…I will deliver him, and honour him.” Here it means to equip you for battle and pull the trouble off your back! God will equip you, supply you, and if there is trouble riding on your shoulders, He will pull that trouble off you. He will equip you for battle and victory.

My friend, in this day, we need to be firm in our foundation and established in what God says concerning matters that we face every day. What have we to fear when we are established on these powerful truths?

I want you to know that God has delivered us, and He will withhold no good thing from us. He has given us the shield of faith that quenches every fiery dart of the wicked one. God has promised to deliver you, to keep you safe, to satisfy you with long life. You have nothing to fear, so hold fast to the Word of God. Repeat the ninety-first Psalm. Keep it before your eyes. Trust in God’s Word and receive your deliverance!
